Connections

Yes. If those folders are synced to your computer, you can connect them to Wissly. For cloud drives, install the desktop app and set up local sync.
When a new document is added to a connected folder, Wissly automatically detects and indexes it. No manual action is required.
PDF, Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx), Excel (.xls, .xlsx), PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx), and text files (.txt) are supported. Scanned documents are also recognized via OCR.
Files outside your connected folders cannot be attached directly to the chat input. Move the file into a folder you’ve connected to Wissly, wait for indexing to complete, and then use the tag (@) feature to reference it.

Features

A general AI chatbot answers from public knowledge. Wissly answers from the documents in the folders you connect. Questions like “the payment terms of our company’s contract” or “the main issues in my department last quarter” — which can’t be answered without access to internal material — are handled with precise source citations.
Internet connection is required for questions and answer generation. However, already-indexed documents can be viewed offline in the viewer.
You can use one account on up to two devices, and simultaneous sign-ins are restricted for security reasons.
Each device operates independently and may have a different set of folders.
As a result, folders that exist on only one device are not visible on other devices, and searches or questions based on those folders are not available there.

Features in Development

Currently you can copy Canvas content or export as text. Direct download in Office formats (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx) is in development and will be available soon.
